 eflective techniques to tackle one of writing's biggest challenges &ndash\
 ; how to sustain a steady stream of raw material for your stories.\n\nDesp
 ite being exposed to a sea of seemingly infinite stimuli &ndash\; sights\,
  sounds\, tastes\, smells\, thoughts\, and ideas &ndash\; every day\, how 
 often do we sit down with pen in hand but nothing to say? It's not enough 
 to simply be exposed to the world if we hope to craft compelling personal 
 stories. We need to engage with our experiences\, first by looking out and
  then by turning in to reflect on what we've seen. That's exactly what we 
 will do\, in miniature\, in this workshop.\n\nWe'll start at the First Per
 son Arts office\, where we'll use tools from improv comedy to help us noti
 ce the world around us\, move beyond our preconceived judgments about what
  things are or could be\, and ultimately find a way to use any and everyth
 ing as source material.\n\nIn part two\, we'll take these tools on a field
  trip to nearby Reading Terminal Market\, where your mission will be to ex
 perience one of the liveliest scenes in Philadelphia in a new way\, a way 
 that inspires original story ideas. Experiential excursion complete\, we'l
 l return to the FPA office for reflective discussion and writing that will
  help encode your ideas deep in your memory\, where they'll sit ready for 
 retrieval at your next writing session.\n\nThis workshop is aimed at anyon
 e who feels called to write but sometimes struggles with what to say. We'l
 l learn ways of seeing and being in the world that will keep your muse hap
 pily fed and always ready to dispense writing inspiration. Participants ca
 n expect to walk away from this workshop with reflective writing practices
  and versatile tools from improv that can be used to amplify the story&mda
 sh\;capturing the potential of virtually any activity.\n\nStart time: 10 a
